nixon 51-30 Chrono Watch. Deep, 300 meters deep. Just in case you didn t catch that, you could be Bond and get thrown out of a submarine and your watch, unlike your thumper, would still be ticking. The Chrono is designed for performance with a 6 hand Japanese quartz with 1/10th second subdial chrono movement. The case consists of 300 meter stainless steel with hardened mineral crystal, external rotating bezel with countdown timer and 9 o clock crown position. The band is made of custom stainless steel with brushed finish and double locking clasp. nixon.
This Nixon watch is HUGE and quite hefty. It weighs in at around 1 lb. Seriously. However, the size and weight are offset by the incredible build quality. The crystal is thick and clear and will definitely hold up to normal usage. The steel band is very solid and quite comfortable. The crown, start/stop plunger and reset plunger all screw down snugly to the case.
I have two complaints regarding this watch. Firstly, after several weeks of usage, the finish on several links in the band began to wear away on two very small spots showing the stainless steel. Most likely, this is from resting my arm on a table or something.
Second, even with the glow-in-the-dark hands, the watch is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to read in the dark. Even in low-light conditions, it takes a few seconds to check.
Other than these two issues, the watch has been great. I get regular compliments on it and it's got great styling.
