Nixon Men's Outsider Digital Watch in Black(A109-000)
This watch is big, bigger than my eco drive nighthawk (though not by much) and bulky. BUT, because this model is all black, it does not appear to be too big. I absolutely love its futuristic and minimalistic look. It looks like something the colonial marines from the movie ALIENS would wear, or even what the cops in the anime series GHOST IN THE SHELL would be issued. The compass works as well as the one in my Pathfinder watch, and I also like the inclusion of a countdown timer (also how it was placed right at the beginning of the menu sequence...I guess they figure if you are setting a countdown you must want to do something fast, so why bury the setting after several clicks, like the Pathfinder?). The light button looks good, it does not make the watch too bright, but since it is all black it is very easy to see the numbers. The band is as thick as the watch itself, and it can be a bit of a pain to put on, but at least it feels extremely secure once you got it on. My only concern is just how long the battery will last, since I believe the black background is actually the LCD, meaning that perhaps more energy is being used in this watch vs a watch that only has to darken the actual numbers instead of the bg. I will post an update after a few months to see just how well the battery does. I am very, very pleased with this futuristic watch, and I am seriously considering buying a second one just like this one (yes, I like it that much!). I am also getting another model by this company, called "The Private" all in black too. Hope this helps!
